  Beverly Soll

Pianist

As a solo pianist, I played a series of recitals of contemporary music, principally by American composers, as a faculty member at Wayne State College in Nebraska, one of which was a featured performance at an international meeting of the College Music Society in Berlin. This was followed by performances of Tayloe Harding’s post-minimalist composition Expanding Mottoes at College Music Society regional meetings across the country.

I performed the Mendelssohn G minor Concerto, with the Northwest Civic Orchestra in Wyoming and again with the Eau Claire Chamber Orchestra in 2006, followed by Janacek’s Capriccio for Left Hand Piano and 13 Winds and Martinů’s La Revue de Cuisine in 2008. Among performances since my arrival in Massachusetts are All about Dance for Twenty Fingers with colleague Sanae Kanda in 2010 and a 2013 solo recital entitled In Homage: J.S.B.

A performance of Bach’s Seventh Keyboard Concerto on harpsichord is scheduled for June, 2015, with The Orchestra on the Hill in Ipswich.
