Split appointment as 50% music faculty, with the other 50% as founder and administrator of the Center for Cultural Outreach. The music component consisted of serving as accompanist for all recitals by advanced students as well as performing solo piano faculty recitals and a wide variety of collaborative performances with faculty colleagues each year. Additional teaching duties included applied piano and classes in music appreciation and class piano.
The Center for Cultural Outreach evolved into a multi-faceted office which supported arts and cultural activities through the campus, hosted guest artists and scholars, created thematic multi-cultural festivals (e.g. Native American and African American), and provided outreach programs to area schools. In 1997, the college’s longstanding professional performance series which included music, theatre, and dance events came under the CCO umbrella.
Publication of articles for the College Music Symposium on the Dickinson songs of Aaron Copland (1992) and for the NATS Journal of Singing on the songs of Max Reger (1995), followed by a three-volume edition of arias, duets and scenes from the operas of William Grant Still (1998).
Active involvement as member and officer of the College Music Society, including papers and performances at regional and national conferences.

Coordination of university-wide arts-related programs and other programs that enhanced the cultural and social learning environment of the university and Chippewa Valley community. The assistant director position additionally provided support to the areas of student development and student organizations at UW-Eau Claire.
Continued activities in music included teaching private piano lessons and coaching and playing degree recitals with student singers and instrumentalists from the university. During these years, I also performed approximately 100 programs as a freelance pianist, a number of which were as a member of the Eau Claire Chamber Orchestra, as a chamber musician with wind and string players, and as a collaborative musician with voice and instrumental colleagues from UW-Eau Claire and other universities in Western Wisconsin and in Wyoming.
Continued work as a music scholar/author, presenting papers at national College Music Society meetings, and completing the already in-progress book on the operas of African American composer William Grant Still, seeing it through to publication in 2005.
